The Shalakya Tantra is an important branch of Ayurveda dealing with the diseases situated above the clavicle concerned with the disorders of Ear, Nose, Throat, Eye, Dental, Head and Neck. The Department imparts Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Ph.D. education with the aim of hand to hand training in examination, Technical training in diagnosis and management along with special emphasis on Ayurvedic treatment procedures like Kriya Kalpa, Nasya, Moordha taila, Eye Exersises, Basti etc along with surgical training in the concerned field. This department is also concerned with prevention of contagious diseases, Preventive and Promotional aspects of health, etc. in accordance with the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine and as adopted by the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University.
During the year 2015-2016, 1 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors and 1 Assistant Professor with other supporting technical and non-technical staff were working in this Department.
A) Under-Graduate Level: During this year, theoretical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance in the subject of Shalakya Tantra were provided to students of BAMS.
B) Post-Graduate Level: During this year, theoretical as well as practical teaching and training with guidance in Shalakya Tantra subject was provided to PG Scholars. The PG Scholars are bifurcated into 2 batches as Netra with 7 Scholars and Shiro, Karna, Nasa and Mukha with 5 Scholars.
